Verizon makes a new deal with World Champion Fantasy Sports.
Verizon has teamed up with World Champion Fantasy, a technology company and the creator of PlayerX. PlayerX is an ambitious project that calls itself “next-generation” and focuses on esports experiences through a platform that Verizon owns. Verizon will be able to add its tools, techstack, and services to the platform as a result of this partnership. This will help PlayerX solidify its position as a leading innovator in the vertical, the companies said in a press release.
Verizon’s VP of Business Markets, Mike Caralis, praised the new partner and what it brought to the table. He said, “We are excited to partner with such an innovative, forward-thinking company that is ready to tap the full potential of the rapidly growing Esports and gaming markets.” Fans of esports will be able to use the PlayerX platform and join different fantasy leagues with teams made up of their favorite esports players and teams thanks to Verizon 5G Ultra Wideband.
There are a number of metrics, like real-time stats and feeds, that can be tracked to help the players in the long run. PlayerX also focuses on a high level of customization, which gives esports fans the ability to go a step further in making experiences that are unique and fit their own tastes. Mike Vela, CEO of World Champion Fantasy, said that the company was changing everything about how video gamers would experience esports.
Vela is sure that the partnership will lead to ground-breaking innovations that give players new ways to make money, like video conferencing with just one touch, access to player data and video, and more. “Through this partnership, gamers, streamers, and fantasy players can have the most advanced and unmatched user experience,” Vela said in the end.
Esports has become a buzzword for iGaming and sports betting companies, entertainment giants, and companies that make traditional video games. In the United States, there has been a steady push toward esports betting as a form of entertainment. Nevada has taken important steps toward making esports betting legal, but lawmakers don’t think there will be a big demand for it.
Still, Bayes Esports, a well-known odds provider, is now licensed to do business in the country and has been growing across North America. Last week, Bayes Esports and bet365 launched an esports betting product in Colorado and New Jersey. The product is based on official data from a well-known game developer. Many companies are always getting new ideas from esports. Rivalry and Low6 just finished their free-to-play game based on Dota 2: The International and the League of Legends World Championship this past weekend.
