Gateway opens gates of its new Playtime Casino in Wasaga Beach

Gateway Casinos and Entertainment, one of the biggest gaming and entertainment companies in Canada, opens the doors to the new Playtime Casino Wasaga Beach. A company spokesman said that the company put $34.3 million into the Wasaga site to make it a place where players can have a memorable and fun time.

The first people to come to the casino were:

Gateway Casinos and Entertainment Limited received OLG approval to build the casino in 2012. Since then, casino construction has continued. Now that the Wasaga Beach casino is open, the reels and virtual roulette tables are whirling to greet players.

Playtime Casino Wasaga Beach opened on November 23 at 1 p.m., and the mayor and municipal council members of Wasaga Beach escorted the first VIP guests on a tour of the new Getaway’s mansion.

Business figures:

Gateway is one of the biggest and most diverse gaming and entertainment companies in Canada. It has 30 gaming properties all over the country. The operator employs about 7,000 people and runs about 339 table games (including 30 poker tables), 14,031 slot machines, 94 places to eat and drink, 561 hotel rooms, and 94 places to get food and drinks.

Playtime Casino Wasaga Beach is the most recent Gateway project. It was built using tried-and-true development methods to match the level of quality that the Canadian operator’s growing customer base has come to expect. Robert Mitchell, the company’s spokesman, said that it cost $34.3 million to meet the company’s standards.

The casino is almost 25,000 square feet and has a family-friendly restaurant called Match Eatery and Public House as well as a gaming floor with 231 slot machines and 12 iGaming tables that simulate table games. The face recognition surveillance system is on the gaming floor.

Helps the community:

Gateway Casinos and Entertainment spokesman Robert Mitchell said Playtime is fun for gamblers and non-gamblers. The company will follow the Ontario government’s request to have members of the Responsible Gambling Council on-site to ensure responsible gambling. However, the new Playtime Casino in Wasaga Beach will create 140 jobs.

Council employee Dave Maynard said, “We help people understand how much they can spend on gambling and how to tell when it’s getting out of hand.” He said, “People think they’ll win if they sit at a slot machine long enough.”

Have fun and play:

But the council is “not against gambling,” the representative said. After seeing the Wasaga casino, Maynard said, “We see it as a fun way to spend our free time.”

The Playtime Wasaga Beach Casino will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 a.m. Sunday through Thursday and from 10 a.m. to 4 a.m. Friday and Saturday.
