Macau Gaming Casino Revenue Down by 55.6%

The Macau Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau (DICJ) reported that November gaming revenues dropped 55.6% to MOP$3 billion (€358.5 million).

November’s GGR fell 23.1% from October’s MOP$3.9 billion (€432.2 million). November’s GGR fell 86.9% from November 2019’s pre-pandemic MOP$22.88 billion (€2.5 billion).

Despite the restoration of eVisas for travelers visiting the island territory, tourism and casino revenues have fallen. Online visa applications for mainland Chinese travelers resumed in November.

Macau Gaming – According to DICJ researchers, the return of eVisas has had minimal short-term effects on the tourism industry. This is primarily attributable to the outbreak of covid cases in China and the government’s zero tolerance attitude regarding covids.

The most recent numbers bring the year-to-date GGR total to MOP$38.7 billion (€4.6 billion), a 50.9% decrease from the same period in 2021.
