The impact of the intrusion is unknown. The exposed data, according to the company, includes names, contact information, birth dates, social security numbers, account identifiers such as player ID and screen name, and user profile features such as transaction history.

The company believes the security compromise occurred in May of 2022, but it was not noticed until November 28.

It does not apparent that the unauthorized party accessed patron passwords or account balances. The online infrastructure was untouched.

After the firm discovered the vulnerability, leading security experts are investigating. The company promised to improve its security systems to prevent such accidents.

BetMGM’s chief executive officer, Adam Greenblatt, warned, “We urge clients to remain vigilant for any unsolicited contacts regarding their personal information and to check their accounts for unusual activity. Since we take data security seriously, we offer free credit monitoring and identity restoration for two years to affected consumers. The following Reference Guides describe how to safeguard your data.”

Users can ask questions and be informed regarding their accounts because the company has provided all contact information.

In the event that further data was compromised, customers should review their account statements and credit reports.

Greenblatt expressed regret for the impact of the breach on the company’s consumers.

The sports betting company DraftKings Inc. identified security flaws on November 21. After announcing a data breach, the company’s shares plunged 5%.
